2015 Landour Mela #2

The 2015 Landour Mela heralded the second instalment of this enchanting event, and it also marked its emergence into a new era, embracing its current form as a beloved local festival. This year, the Mela resonated with a heartwarming sense of community, transforming the landscape into a vibrant tapestry of local culture and creativity.

Once more under the aegis of Shri Jakir Husain (former CEO) Cantt. Board Landour with Col BK Shukla (ITM DRDO) and thoughtful support of Mr. Mahesh Chand (Ex-VP), the Mela flourished, drawing a diverse array of vendors from the neighbouring regions of Dehradun and Mussoorie. Each stall was a treasure trove of local craftsmanship and charm, offering everything from handcrafted trinkets to delicious local delicacies, further enriching the joyous experience for attendees.

The melding of the community and local entrepreneurs propelled the festival into the hearts of both residents and visitors. Mussoorie and Landour became lively backdrops to this gathering, where unique crafts and culinary delights converged, each corner bursting with the warm spirit of camaraderie and shared celebration. The Landour Mela wasn't just an event; it transformed into a cherished occasion, knitting together the threads of old traditions and newfound friendships, inspiring excitement for all that was yet to come in the years ahead.

#LM2015 Highlights

Interestingly, many vendors who had missed the earlier Winterline Carnival at the Mall found a warm welcome at the Mela. This created a delightful niche ambiance, igniting an atmosphere rich with stories, laughter, and the pleasant sound of happy conversations. As the sun shone brightly over Landour, a few hundred visitors gathered to revel in this local feast, a remarkably large turnout for the quaint hillside town at that time. The magic of the Mela, with its personal touch and local flair, firmly planted itself as a staple in the community's festive calendar, promising joy and togetherness for many years to follow.
